In all we do, we are dedicated to celebrating the global design community and providing an engaging platform of discovery for collectors and newcomers alike.
Design Miami was founded in 2005 by entrepreneur, real estate developer, and art and design collector Craig Robins. As the CEO and President of Dacra, Robins develops creative communities that integrate art, design and architecture. In 2000, Robins set about transforming the previously abandoned Miami Design District into one of the world’s most important centers for innovative design, fashion, food and art. In 2005 the renewal of the Miami Design District inspired the creation of DESIGN MIAMI. and subsequently DESIGN MIAMI.BASEL.
In 2015 Jen Roberts joined Design Miami as CEO and has since broadened the company’s initiatives to include an expanded digital presence and DESIGN MIAMI.Paris. In October of 2023, Basic.Space announced the acquisition of Design Miami. Jesse Lee, the CEO and Founder of Basic.Space, is now the chairman of the Design Miami board, with Jennifer Roberts remaining as CEO.
