Although Manufacture de Sèvres was founded centuries ago, the venerable French porcelain company has remained au courant by continuously collaborating with some of the best talents of the day. For Design Miami/ Paris 2023, Sèvres worked with iconic French designer Ronan Bouroullec to produce Lampes Sèvres, a new lighting collection that marries age-old techniques with of-the-moment aesthetics. These minimalist forms have an outsized impact thanks to their enchanting porcelain corollas.

“The essence of sculpture is to project and endow the spirit with a sense of being; to radiate a plethora of human allegories bridging space and time… to revitalize the soul.”
—Dr. Samuel Ross
Last year, Miami Design District commissioned British multi-talent Dr. Samuel Ross to reimagine the public seating provided across the neighborhood’s 18 square blocks. For Design Miami/ Paris 2023, our long-time partner has unveiled the super cool first result—a sculptural, safety-yellow-hued bench prototype that encourages social engagement while supporting a range of postures, including “sitting, standing, leaning, and lurching.” Drawing on the strengths of digital design processes, the final collection of benches will be produced in a variety of forms, customized to each installation location.
