Marina Abramovic
Marina Abramovic: Chairs for Human and Spirit Use. These dual sculptures mark a novel path in Abramovic’s legendary body of work. As a foray into the world of collectible design, the chairs serve as a meditation on the value of functional objects, beyond their physical dimensions, instead concentrating on their metaphysical qualities. The idea that physical objects might be created only to serve spiritual functions is a powerful provocation in today’s ravenous consumer society in need of new ways to heighten spiritual awareness and redefine the human relationship to the materials we consume.

Expertise/ Discovery and cultivation of the new icons of our time
HAADA is a contemporary nomadic gallery offering a judiciously curated group of diverse international artists and designers. We herald all modes of expression, focusing on the cerebral and emotional intersection of form and function. Avoiding fast trends, we promote conceptual disruptors as well as contemporary traditionalists, side by side, all whilst looking to the future to support environmentally-conscious practices. Together our aim is to discover and develop innovative thinking and making in the design field. Our projects identify the new icons of our time offering a symbiotic relationship between museum level curation and sales. Founded by Elahe Beigi, Whitney Godfrey Hardin, and Christian Larsen, HAADA uniquely brings together institutional level critique and curation with invaluable connections to the world’s leading interior designers and private collectors. Christian Larsen is a curator and professor who has held distinguished positions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, Bard Graduate Center, the Wolfsonian-Florida International University, and The Museum of Arts & Design, NY. Elahe Beigi, known for creating critical pathways for the international market of 20th century and contemporary Brazilian design, brings with her 30 years of experience working with some of the most groundbreaking designers of our time. Whitney Godfrey Hardin has a MAFDA from Sotheby’s London and 15 years experience as Sales Director of some of NYC’s top art and design galleries. Together, the team brings a unique connoisseurship for the discovery and cultivation of the new icons of our time.
