About the Collaboration
Expertise/ Cast Glass
Alexandra Grant is a Los Angeles–and Berlin–based visual artist whose work explores issues around communication across languages, literary traditions, and cultures. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries globally and she is represented by Miles McEnery Gallery in New York and carlier | gebauer in Berlin and Madrid. Grant is the creator of the grantLOVE Project, which raises funds for arts-based nonprofits. alexandragrant.com Jonathan Prince views art as a journey that contemplates science, technology, and an ongoing investigation of spirituality. Through stretching the limitations of his materials, Prince finds possibility within vulnerability — beauty in the chaos. He fabricates each of his large-scale, monumental sculptures in his own studio, making Prince one of the only sculptors working today who fabricates himself at the scale he produces. Prince’s work is in several prominent collections around the US and internationally and has exhibited at Christie’s NY, the Chesterwood Estate and recently unveiled a permanent public sculpture at Longmeadow Residency. jonathanprince.com Zdeněk Lhotský is a painter, sculptor, glass artist, and technologist, as well as founding member of Czech artistic group Stubborn One. Three decades ago, he took over the world’s oldest studio of cast glass sculpture, making it an art manufacturing hub changing the world’s perception of glass as a contemporary art medium. Whether crafting building facades, interior lighting, fountains, staircases, or glass bowls and vases, his creations consistently feature decorative and technological innovation. Lhostky has exhibited internationally, and his works are held by numerous public and private galleries including Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, Tacoma Art Museum, Museum of Arts and Design, and Museum Ernsting Stiftung. lhotsky.cz
