The DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS Honorary Committee has been established as an expression of our utmost gratitude to a select group of individuals, each of whom have played an integral role in bringing DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS to fruition this October 17 - 22, 2023.

Hervé Lemoine

Mobilier National - President

Hervé Lemoine, Conservateur général du patrimoine, joined the Historical Service of the Army (now known as the Defense Historical Service, Vincennes) in 1996. He would later become the Deputy Director of Archives and Libraries in this service. In 2005, he was appointed Deputy to the Director of Memory, Heritage, and Archives at the Ministry of Defense. In this role, he oversaw the policy for archives and libraries, ensuring the supervision of institutions within this domain. Between 1999 and 2006, he led a research seminar on the sources of history at Sciences Po, Paris. In January 2009, he took the helm of the Museum of French Monuments and the Heritage Department of the City of Architecture and Heritage (Paris, Trocadéro), curating several exhibitions. From 2010 to 2018, Hervé Lemoine served as the Director in charge of the Archives of France at the Ministry of Culture and Communication, managing the network of public services for national and departmental archives. Since February 12, 2018, Hervé Lemoine has been the Director of the Mobilier national. He spearheaded the transformation of the institution into a public administrative institution, effective since January 1st, 2022. He is currently the President of Mobilier national. Supporting arts and crafts since the 17th century, Mobilier national is committed to ensuring the preservation and restoration of its unparalleled collections, perpetuating and transmitting exceptional skills and know-how. Additionally, the institution plays a significant role in contemporary creation and promoting the French decorative arts.

Micky Wolfson

The Wolfsonian - FIU Founder, Collector

Mitchell “Micky” Wolfson founded The Wolfsonian–FIU in order to explore, examine, and reveal design’s imperative role in shaping human experiences, perceptions, and attitudes from the mid 19th to the mid 20th centuries. States Wolfson, “Objects made or designed by the individual illuminate human behavior and motivation better than any other form of human expression.” Born in Miami and raised in Miami Beach and Asheville, North Carolina, Wolfson’s world view expanded rapidly with extensive travel and a degree in International Relations followed by diplomatic posts in Italy. Living in Europe provided him with opportunities to begin amassing an unparalleled collection of decorative and fine arts as well as books and ephemera. In 1986 Wolfson founded The Wolfson Foundation of Decorative and Propaganda Arts to publish The Journal of Decorative and Propaganda Arts and oversee the evolution of The Wolfsonian, a museum and research center in Miami Beach, and its sister institution, The Wolfsoniana, in Genoa, Italy. In 1997 Wolfson gifted The Wolfsonian, its collection and state-of-the-art headquarters to Florida International University. In a similar vein, Wolfson donated his collection in Italy to the Palazzo Ducale Fondazione per la Cultura which oversees a robust exhibition schedule at the Wolfsoniana as well as a research study center in Genoa. More recently he established the American Friends of Palazzo Ducale to support the collection in Italy. Wolfson is co-author, with artist Michele Oka Doner, of the well-received Miami Beach: Blueprint of an Eden (2005). He was named Travel + Leisure Design Awards 2011 Design Champion and in 2007 was awarded both the Rotondi Prize to Art Rescuers (for his lifelong commitment to the preservation of art and architecture) and the Stewardship of Modernism Award by the Russell Wright Design Center in New York. He is a member of many educational, civic, and cultural boards. He is a trustee for the Mitchell Wolfson Senior Foundation and the Mitchell Wolfson Family Foundation and a member of the International Council of the Museum of Modern Art and the Executive Planning Committee for the Bard Graduate Center. He is a graduate of Princeton University (B.A.) and the Paul N. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, Bologna (M.A.)

Sylvie Corréard

Le Musée des Arts Decoratifs - General Director

Ms. Corréard’s mission is to pursue the development strategy defined by the administration council and to affirm MAD’s international dimension. Appointed in May 2017 to the Prime Minister’s cabinet as a cultural and communications technical advisor, Sylvie Corréard oversaw projects within the scope of the Ministry of Culture, notably in the fields of cultural heritage and museums. She has previously served in the museum sector as the administrator of the Pompidou Center and the secretary general of the City of Paris’s Museum of Modern Art, and in the film sector as the director of the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation, the managing director of DIRE (an association of independent distributors) and a project manager for the Director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l’Image et du Son (Fémis).

Chris Dercon

Fondation Cartier pour l'Art Contemporain - Managing Director

Chris Dercon is a director of cultural institutions, who has worked with design throughout his carrer, starting with a project with Robbrecht en Daem on the extension of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam in the second half of the 90’s. At the same time, he worked with Rem Koolhaas OMA’s advising the architects on several cultural infrastructure projects. At Haus der Kunst in the beginning of the 2000’s Dercon developed exhibitions of Petra Blaisse, Droog Design, Konstantin Grcic, Herzog de Meuron, Rem Koolhaas, Martin Margiela, Carlo Mollino and Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion at Haus der Kunst in Munich. At Tate Modern, Dercon ended his five-year tenure as Director of Tate Modern with the major contributions to a new publication which includes conversations between Dercon and architects Jacques Herzog and Pierre de Meuron, as well as landscape architect Günther Vogt, and interior designer Jasper Morrison. At the Volksbuhne in Berlin, Chris Dercon worked with architect Francis Kere. In Paris, Chris Dercon has worked with Francois Chatillon and Atelier Senzu on the renovation of the Grand Palais in Paris. He is currently working on the future building of the Fondation Cartier with Jean Nouvel, in the summer of 2024, the exhibition Design and Sport, initiated by Dercon and curated by Konstantin Grcic will open at Musée du Luxembourg.

Donatien Grau

Le Musée du Louvre - Head of contemporary programs; Alphabet Magazine - artistic director and editor in chief

Donatien Grau is a scholar, editor, author and museum executive. He holds doctoral degrees in French and comparative literature from the Sorbonne, in philological and historical sciences from the École des Hautes Études, Paris, and a DPhil from Oxford University. He served as advisor to Azzedine Alaïa for the couturier’s not-for-profit exhibition space, the Galerie (2014–17), and curated the inaugural exhibition of the reopening of the Getty Villa, Malibu, Plato in L. A. (2018). He then joined the Musée d’Orsay (2018-2022) and later the Louvre as head of contemporary programs. He has published widely on the arts and culture of the Roman Empire, on 19th and 20th literary and art history, as well as on contemporary art and culture. A close friend to artists, he was included in Apollo Magazine’s Forty under Forty Europe in 2014. In the Fall 2023, he becomes the editor in chef and artistic director of the newly-founded Alphabet Magazine.

Sarah Andelman

Just An Idea, Colette - Curator, Publisher

After studying Art History at Ecole du Louvre, Sarah Andelman co-founded the shop colette in Paris in 1997. During 20 years, it became the epicenter for creativity, with the curation of style, design, art and food. In 2018, Sarah launched JUST AN IDEA, a consulting company building bridges between disciplines, with an expertise on collaborations and retail experiences. Since 2021, Sarah Andelman publishes limited edition art books highlighting new talents.

Loïc Turpin

Mobilier National - Director of Communications

Loïc Turpin is currently head of the Development and Communication department at the Mobilier National, a French institution under the Ministry of Culture. As a graduate from Sciences Po Paris in Public Policies and Territories, Loic's career reflects his strong desire to actively and concretely engage in the cultural sector. Loïc began his career in the cultural democratization field, beginning at the Municipality of Paris and later as Chief of Staff in the Ministry of Culture. Subsequently, he joined the Mobilier national's team as Director of the Development and Communication department. Supporting craftsmanship and creativity since the 17th century, the Mobilier National's mission is to ensure the preservation and restoration of its world-renowned collections. It also plays a significant role in contemporary creation. Loïc Turpin is an influential figure in the field of creative arts in France, leading significant initiatives to support emerging talents and showcase the country's cultural heritage.

Isabelle Chouvet

The Independents Group - Co-Founder and CEO

Isabelle Chouvet is the Co-Founder and CEO of The Independents Group, the leading international communications group specializing in luxury, fashion, and lifestyle. Isabelle is also a member and advisor of France's Foreign Trade in China (CNCCEF) since 2012 as well as a member of the Club Femmes Forum. Isabelle is an alumni of Harvard Business School executive OPM program (2014) and was awarded for the Best Social Enterprise by Harvard for Netspring, a pioneer social company founded in Hong-Kong in 2012 to support social and environmental projects. Later in 2016, the International Professional Women's Society (Association Internationale des Femmes en Entreprise) named Isabelle “Business Leader of the Year”.

Olivier Chouvet

The Independents Group - Co-Founder

Olivier Chouvet is an entrepreneur with a dedication to luxury fashion and lifestyle. Olivier has created more than 20 companies globally. Olivier co-founded The Independents with Isabelle, his wife, in 2017. The Independents is a global group of agencies for industry leaders across luxury and lifestyle, comprising Bureau Betak & Bureau Future, CTZAR, Karla Otto, K2, Lefty, Prodject and The Qode. The agency collective is powerfully positioned to offer streamlined strategy, creative, talent, influencer marketing, experiences and communications services for leading brands across key territories. With now 12 offices and close to 800 employees, The Independents operates across the US, Europe, the Middle-East and Asia. Prior to this, he created several businesses in China and Japan including a luxury flash sales ecommerce platform named Glamour Sales (translated as Gladd.jp in Japan and Mei.com in China). Following a successful development, the platform was sold to Alibaba in 2015 in China and to NTV in 2023 in Japan. Olivier has two sons and a younger daughter. He is working on the opening of the United World College in France, an international network of schools and educational programmes with the shared aim of making education a force to unite people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future. Olivier is an alumni of Harvard Business School executive OPM program (2014). Olivier has a passion for brands communication and new technologies.

Daniel Bismut

French Architect and Interior designer

Daniel Bismut is a French Architect and Interior designer. Daniel founded with his brother Michel, “Bismut & Bismut”. In March 2022, Les Echos newspaper named Daniel & Michel Bismut among the 15 ambassadors of the French Style abroad. They conceive personal and unique designs for residential and commercial projects, including high-end Apartments, Embassies, Hotels and luxuries Concept Stores worldwide. They work on very various projects and scales, straight from a furniture‘s detail’s piece to a building‘s architecture design. Their projects are about volumes, lines, space and materials... Simplifying architectural vocabulary by keeping only the bare essentials. Bismut & Bismut recent projects include Residential Apartments, Mansions, Houses, Offices buildings, and Hotels’ projects in France & worldwide. They are also working for “San Lorenzo” boatyard on global interior design ( their last SD118 yachts is selected for Compasso D’Oro in 2024) , the 2nd floor of the new Cartier Flagship Store in Geneva, as well as projects in Miami, Dubai, Jeddah, Geneva, Lisbon and Comporta coming in 2023/24. Daniel & Michel have also design a custom-made Furniture collection, including limited editions pieces, with high-end craftsmanship and sensual materials, presented in exhibitions such as “AD Interieurs”, “AD Collections” in Paris, or “Holiday House” in London. Their table «Tray» is in the “Musée des Arts Décoratifs” collection, their ”Drum” and “Puzzle” coffee tables are part of the furniture in the French president’s Palais de l’Elysée and included in the collection of the “Mobilier National”. Their “Cinetic” table was presented in the pavillon France at the World expo Dubai 2020. Their furniture pieces are sold worldwide. Their work has been largely published in different French and foreign editions of specialized magazines such as, Architectural Digest, Elle Deco, Harper’s Bazaar, Ideat etc…

Nathan Litera

Nathan Litera - Principal

Nathan Litera studio was founded in 2014 by Nathan Litera and Lyatt Samama. Nathan Litera was educated in Architecture at l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture Paris-Belleville and at the Cooper Union University in New York. He is a licensed Architect and Interior Designer. He started his career as an architect at Kohn Pedersen Fox in New York and joined the Atelier Jean Nouvel in Paris afterwards. His deep interest in Interior Architecture and Furniture design led him to join the office of Joseph Dirand Architecture as a Project Manager in 2010. There, he was in charge of several high-end residential, hospitality and fashion stores projects. Nathan Litera has already completed a portfolio of projects in the United States, France, England, Belgium and the Middle East. Nathan Litera and Lyatt Samama were in charge of projects that varied from the renovation of a European Royal Castle, to the renovation of the Spring Place Club NY restaurant, offices headquarters in New York or some major residential estates in the US. Nathan Litera is currently involved in high-end hospitality, residential and offices projects in Paris, St Tropez, Miami, Washington, London, New York and Tokyo. Nathan Litera released his first furniture collection inspired by Venice, ALTANA, at the Salon Art Design in New York in 2021.The second volume of the Altana collection will be launched in 2024. Nathan Litera is selected for the French Design Award 2023.

Lyatt Samama

Nathan Litera studio was founded in 2014 by Nathan Litera and Lyatt Samama. Lyatt Samama is originally a qualified attorney member of Paris and New York Bars. Her deep interest in architecture and design led her to partner with Nathan Litera. She was entrusted with the FF&E’s selection and the office general management. Nathan Litera has already completed a portfolio of projects in the United States, France, England, Belgium and the Middle East. Nathan Litera and Lyatt Samama were in charge of projects that varied from the renovation of a European Royal Castle, to the renovation of the Spring Place Club NY restaurant, offices headquarters in New York or some major residential estates in the US. Nathan Litera is currently involved in high-end hospitality, residential and offices projects in Paris, St Tropez, Miami, Washington, London, New York and Tokyo. Ivan Mietton

Contemporary Design Producer and Curator

After graduating from the École du Louvre, Ivan Mietton joined the design department of the Centre Pompidou where he worked on such major exhibitions as Ettore Sottsass: 20 Years of Designs for Olivetti and a retrospective of Charlotte Perriand. He then worked as a contemporary design producer, design advisor and curator for several exhibitions of Sottsass and of design legend Dieter Rams. In 2021, he published Ettore Sottsass Poltronova 1958-1974 (Skira), the first monograph on Ettore Sottsass’ furniture for the italian brand. This year, he edited Echoes - Cassina, 50 years of iMaestri (Rizzoli), a complete research on some of the most iconic models designed by the greatest architects of the twentieth century.
