Sèvres x Mobilier National present the works of Ettore Sottsas and Éric Gizard, scenography by Charles Zana
France's national manufacturers join forces to unveil their creations at Design Miami.Paris
By showcasing the creative plurality of the French decorative arts, the national manufacturers revive the French tradition of “ensemblier” to provide a prestigious showcase for their expertise.
Designed by architect Charles Zana, the scenography promotes the alliance between design and craftsmanship. Fourteen Sèvres pieces designed by Ettore Sottsas demonstrate the subtle, colorful and sensual humour of the Italian founder of the Memphis movement. Ceramics in a fiery color blend with an ensemble of furniture designed by French designer Eric Gizard and prototyped by Mobilier National's Atelier de Recherche et de Création - ARC, offering a refined aesthetic in homage to the classic materials of French decorative arts: wood, leather and metal.
