Jean-Michel Chaudeurge

Circline Floor Lamp, Edition Verre Lumiere, 1977

Price Upon Request

Exhibited at DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2023 Jean-Michel Chaudeurge was a young French designer newly hired by Verre Lumiere (VL) when he created this elegant lacquered metal base to integrate and support a new light source - the Circline fluorescent tube bulb by Philips. VL was known for meeting the technical challenges of developing new types of lighting for the halogen bulbs of 1969, all the new fluorescent tubes of the 1970s, and later, the compact fluorescent bulbs of the early 1980s. While the “Circline” collection includes a table lamp and wall sconces, this floor lamp is extremely rare and the only example we have found. Materials: Lacquered metal, fluorescent Circline bulb.
