Maria Pergay

Two-Ring Chair, 1968

Price Upon Request

Exhibited at DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2023 A pioneer of using stainless steel in furniture, Maria Pergay almost single-handedly transformed stainless steel from an industrial material into an elegant and sensual component of modern design. The idea for the Ring Chair came to Pergay while she was peeling an orange. The Ring Chair is one of her most iconic works, and very few examples of the Two-Ring version were produced, making it extremely rare. The most notable example of this particular design was made for Claude de Muzac. Materials: Stainless steel. c. 1968
