Hand sculpted in Ceppo, a unique stone that is geologically formed from compressed marble fragments, Lovers Bench is composed of two elements that fit and interlock with one another. The work’s stone typology is particularly rare within the Ceppo quarries, as these marble fragments are about forty centimeters in length – as opposed to the usual average of ten centimeters – and provide a range of over a dozen colors. The combination the stone and the shape results in a surprising piece that highlights the natural beauty of the material, while illustrating a moment of intimacy and conversation between two elements.
