Design Miami.Paris opened this week, welcoming a steady stream of collectors and enthusiasts eager to see what the 2nd edition of our Paris fair has to offer. What they discovered did not disappoint!
Once again set within the stunning Hôtel de Maisons in the chic Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood, the fair showcases an array of rare and cutting-edge collectible designs, curated by prestigious exhibitors from around the globe. Judging by the comments we’ve heard most often, visitors can’t seem to get enough of the dynamic interplay between the exceptional modern and contemporary objects on display and the grand, 18th-century architectural backdrop.

The jubilant atmosphere has fed the commercial side of the fair. Exciting sales have transacted since Preview Day—notably Galerie Downtown-LAFFANOUR's full-scale, 1946 prefabricated house by Jean Prouvé for over €1,000,000.
We’re so proud that Design Miami.Paris 2024 has also delivered a series of outstanding installations from our supporting partners. Scroll on for a glimpse at some of the gorgeous, timely design projects that have made this fair shine.
FORNASETTI PRESENTS ENGRAVING REFLECTIONS AT DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2024

We’ve long been fans of the magical work of Fornasetti, the unique design atelier founded in Milan in the 1940s by the enigmatic Italian artist-designer Piero Fornasetti and directed today by his son Barnaba. One of the most iconic designs from the Milanese atelier is the trumeau, a cabinet embellished with trompe l'oeil architectural details, originally developed in collaboration with Gio Ponti in the early ’50s.
For its Design Miami.Paris debut, Fornasetti unveiled two new, utterly enchanting trumeau designs. The first, Riflesso di Architettura, is a one-off that features meticulously hand-engraved mirrored glass, created in collaboration with Barbini Specchi Veneziani in Murano. The second, titled Architettura Archetipo, is a limited edition of five, inspired by an original postwar prototype from the Fornasetti archives.

Since 2012, French fashion house Louis Vuitton has been dazzling the design world with its unforgettable Objets Nomades collection, an ongoing initiative that invites renowed international designers to create experimental yet functional objects for home and travel. From the beginning, the beloved Estúdio Campana has made significant contributions to the ever-evolving collection.
For Design Miami.Paris, Louis Vuitton celebrates its long-standing collaboration with Estúdio Campana on the occasion of the Brazilian design studio's 40th anniversary this year. The resulting installation unveils two new designs, the Cocoons Couture and the Kaléidoscope Cabinet, which carry forward the visionary spirit shared by both Louis Vuitton and Estúdio Campana.
SAINT-LOUIS PRESENTS CHAMADE BY PIERRE MARIE AT DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2024

With impressive roots dating back to 1586, Saint-Louis is the oldest glass manufacturer in France and the first crystal manufacturer in continental Europe. For this year’s fair, Saint-Louis has proven that fine glass production is alive and thriving in the 21st-century through an exquisite new collection designed in collaboration with Paris-based artist-decorator Pierre Marie.
The installation comprises three totemic crystal sculptures—Tenor, Alto and Soprano—each featuring exuberant, mouth-blown forms, enriched with vibrant colors revealed through masterful hand cutting. While the collection forms a coherent trio, each design on its own embodies the pinnacle of decorative savoir faire combined with technical skill.
SCAD PRESENTS NEW COMMISSIONS BY TRISH ANDERSEN, BRADLEY BOWERS, LÆRKE LILLELUND, AND ENY LEE PARKER AT DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2024

The Savannah College of Art Design (SCAD) has produced a number of accomplished design talents over the years, thanks to its world renowned art and design curriculum. As the official university partner of Design Miami.Paris, SCAD is shining a light on four of its most lauded alumni while also beautifully engaging the historic architecture of L’hôtel de Maisons.
For a winding staircase, fiber artist Trish Andersen has created a sweeping, multi-hued tufted carpeted, which is complemented by textile designer Lærke Lillelunda’s billowy organza sculpture hanging in the stairwell. At the top of the stairs, amid white paneled walls and black and gold iron railings, you’ll find designer Bradley Bowers’ revamped vintage sofa upholstered in one of his signature green gradient fabrics, sitting alongside spatial designer Eny Lee Parker’s vivacious wood and ceramic side tables.
SÈVRES X MOBILIER NATIONAL PRESENT ETTORE SOTTSASS AND ÉRIC GIZARD, SCENOGRAPHY BY CHARLES ZANA, AT DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2024

Two legendary French cultural institutions have joined forces for Design Miami.Paris: Sèvres, the luxury porcelain manufacturer established by Louis XV and Madame de Pompadour in 1756, and Mobilier National, the storied agency of the French Ministry of Culture dedicated to preserving French decorative arts since 1870.
The collaborative installation features iconic vessels designed by Italian designer-architect Ettore Sottsass for Sèvres in the 20th century, displayed in conversation with an ensemble of furniture designed by French designer Eric Gizard for Mobilier National's Atelier de Recherche et de Création (ARC) in the 21st century — amid a striking scenography designed by Paris-based interior designer Charles Zana. As an ensemble, the installation presents an elegant homage to the classic materials of French interior style and the quality of French craftsmanship.
MYCOWORKS X PARAGONE AGENCY PRESENTA MYCELIUM MUSE: DISCOVER REISHI™ at DESIGN MIAMI.PARIS 2024
For Design Miami.Paris, California-based biotech company MycoWorks and Paris-based design agency Paragone have shared the extraordinary fruits of their longterm collaboration: a phenomenal furniture collection crafted in a sustainable new material called Reishi.
Woven from mycelium (the highly renewable deep roots of fungi), Reishi feels as soft, supple, and sumptuous as traditional leather while avoiding the negative environmental impacts of animal products. Featuring designs by notable creatives Sophie Dries, Anna Le Corno, Josephine Fossey, Pauline Guerrier, Marion Mailaender, Fanny Perrier, and Sarah Valente, the installation is a masterclass in the future of collectible design.
As the fair continues until the 20th, we'd like to extend a wholehearted thank you to our partners for their tremendous contributions—including Arthur Kar and Two Bear Capital, as well as Cadogan Tate, COVA, Kartell, Range Rover, Ruinart, WSJ Magazine, and the Miami Design District. Design Miami.Paris 2024 would not be the success that it is without them!
This December, Design Miami will return to its established location at Pride Park for the milestone 20th edition of its Miami flagship fair. Taking place between December 4-8, 2024, with Preview Day on December 3, the fair will welcome an international array of gallery and Curio exhibitions, presented alongside a rich program of partnerships, collaborations, and design talks. Under the special edition's curatorial director Glenn Adamson’s chosen theme, Blue Sky, world-leading galleries will present contemporary and historic highlights that demonstrate the power of a ‘blue sky thinking’ approach to design - past, present, and future.
